It doesn’t get much more out of touch than Nancy Pelosi.
She basically lives on a different planet than 99% of the American people.
Pelosi and her extraordinarily rich husband live in an affluent area of San Francisco where the population of Trump supporters ranges somewhere between 0 and 4. So anyone who knows her background probably wasn’t surprised when she came out and said that the $1,000 bonus millions of Americans are getting from Trump’s tax plan is “crumbs”.
Nothing wrong with being rich. But there is something wrong with being rich and then disparaging the Americans out there who think $1,000 is a good chunk of money.
Pelosi’s comment was so dumb that one GOP lawmaker is taking an epic swipe at her.
From BizPac Review:
One Republican lawmaker may have just taken home the prize for the year’s best trolling.
Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN) took a swipe at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) with new legislation that would make bonuses to employees tax-free up to $2,500. Dubbed the CRUMBS Act, the bill alludes to Pelosi’s comment calling post-tax reform employee bonuses “crumbs.”
From Fox News:
“Americans are receiving thousands of dollars in bonuses and more money in their paychecks thanks to President Trump’s tax reform, but out-of-touch Democratic leaders believe they only amount to crumbs,” Rokita said in a statement. “The CRUMBS Act will let Americans keep more of the money they receive as a result of President Trump’s tax reform, and allow them, not the government, to choose how best to spend their bonuses
Rokita’s bill would make bonuses received by workers in 2018 tax-free up to $2,500. Since tax reform was signed into law this past December, multiple companies have given out bonuses and pay raises in anticipation of increased tax savings.
This really sums up just how lost the Democrats are right now. They are out of touch and part of the problem is that they have put people like Nancy in charge despite disastrous results. Trump speaks to the voters who appreciate $1,000. Pelosi speaks to the voters who scoff at it. That’s why Hillary Clinton isn’t president.
Democrats seem convinced they are going to do great this fall in the midterms.
They better not get too carried away with that belief…
From The Daily Caller:
Republicans overtook Democrats on a generic congressional ballot for the first time since April 2017, a new Politico-Morning Consult poll finds.
The poll found 39 percent of voters preferring a Republican candidate to 38 percent of voters preferring the Democratic candidate. Uncertainty is high, however, with 23 percent of voters still undecided as to who they will support. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points.
The Morning Consult-Politico poll also found that Trump’s approval rating is 47 percent overall.
Time for Democrats to panic.
