Meryl Streep gave an almost incoherent rant against President-elect Donald Trump at the Golden Globes on Sunday night that immediately went viral.
This morning, Trump shot back, calling her ‘overrated’ and questioning the validity of her attacks.
“Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes,” Trump writes on Twitter. “She is a Hillary flunky who lost big.”
Streep attacked Trump for allegedly making fun of a disabled reporter, supposedly being against ‘foreigners’ and the press.
But Trump denied that he had mocked the reporter.
Streep accused of Trump making fun of a disabled reporter, lamenting that the event “sank its hooks in my heart.”
“It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie; it was real life,” she said.
But Trump argued that he was simply showing the reporter “groveling” for changing a 16 year old story to make him look bad.
“Just more very dishonest media!” he concluded.
Streep was in fact a rabid supporter of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 Presidential campaign, appearing with Clinton and for Clinton at many events.
She even previously mocked Trump, pretending to be him in an unflattering portrait at an event last year.
Streep even predicted that Hillary Clinton would be the first woman president in a supportive speech she gave on clinton’s behalf at the Democratic National Convention.
