Information is now being released on the Ft. Lauderdale Airport Shooter who shot up the baggage claim area, killing five people and wounding eight.
Here are the first pictures of the killer.
Here’s a picture of the gun used. The shooter had come in on a flight originating out of Anchorage, Alaska and had the gun in checked luggage.
CBS is reporting that the suspect was investigated for child porn, but there was not enough evidence found to prosecute.
According to CBS, Esteban Santiago was a member of the Alaska Nat’l Guard until Aug. 2016, when he received general discharge for “unsatisfactory performance.”
He was taken to a mental hospital in November after walking into an FBI office and told them the government had ‘forced him to watch ISIS videos.’
According to NBC, the brother of the shooter, Bryan Santiago, is saying that Esteban had been receiving psychological care and had mental health problems.
Bryan Santiago said his brother served in Iraq.
There are reports that Esteban Santiago got into ‘altercations’ with people on the plane and that may also have been a potential cause, according to Sen. Marco Rubio.
