On Friday, President Trump signed an executive order suspending entry from seven countries with high radical Islamic populations (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen) for 120 days.

The order also suspended refugee admissions for four months and banned Syrian refugees indefinitely.

The orders have taken immediate effect.

Customs officials are already stopping travelers within hours of the signing, and other travelers were being stopped from boarding flights bound for the United States.

Iran is now saying they will retaliate.

“While respecting the American people and distinguishing between them and the hostile policies of the U.S. government, Iran will implement the principle of reciprocity until the offensive U.S. limitations against Iranian nationals are lifted,” a Foreign Ministry statement said.

“The restrictions against travel by Muslims to America… are an open affront against the Muslim world and the Iranian nation in particular and will be known as a great gift to extremists,” said the statement, carried by state media.

So let’s see.

You want to ban us from visiting an Islamic theocracy.

One that approves throwing gay men off roofs.

One that demands women remain covered.

One that chants at every opportunity, “Death to America.”

One that has viewed us as an enemy since 1979.

One that has been a major state sponsor of terrorism around the world.

Gee, this is a hard call…

How about stopping the state-sponsored “Death to America” rallies?

Then Americans might believe you are serious about good relations.
