At this point the accusations are getting a little ridiculous.
Mainstream media seems to be “if it bleeds Trump, it leads” regardless of normal journalistic standards.
The latest breaking ‘scandal’ is a case in point.
President Trump told Russian officials in the Oval Office this month that firing the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, had relieved “great pressure” on him, according to a document summarizing the meeting.
“I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Mr. Trump said, according to the document, which was read to The New York Times by an American official. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.”
Mr. Trump added, “I’m not under investigation.”
Really? It doesn’t even make sense that anyone would say that, as the investigation continues and firing him wouldn’t have stopped it. Moreover, the firing created even more attention, not less.
It almost sounds like someone, realizing they don’t have enough to for an obstruction of justice charge for Trump is now trying to created the language showing intent to impede the investigation.
Some anonymous official over the phone told the NY Times this?
Again from some anonymous document that no one has seen?
This is like the anonymous source with the Comey memo no one has yet seen.
At what point do we say enough with the nonsense?
This isn’t journalism, this is rumor-mongering with the specific purpose to undermine the Trump presidency.
And we should call it what it is and call out this media effort…
