Bubba Watson is currently the third-ranked golfer in the world, per PGA Tour. Apparently though, dominating on the greens does not equate to being a smart cookie off of them.
Watson purchased an original General Lee at auction in 2012 for $121,000 – Confederate flag on the roof and all. Now, because of public outrage, Bubba has decided to paint over the flag that represents Southern heritage to so many with Old Glory.
Obviously, things could be worse, but come on, man! It’s the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard!
Maybe Watson is a conservative who understands that Democrats proudly flew the flag in an era when they attempted to keep the slave trade alive, while Republicans were abolitionists.
I shake my head whenever I hear a minority say they favor today’s Left over the Right. Why do they think the Republican party was formed?
From The Blaze:
Bubba Watson says he’s painting over the Confederate flag on his car made popular in “The Dukes of Hazzard” television series.
The two-time Masters champ said Friday he’ll replace it with the U.S. flag on the roof of the “General Lee 01.”
Watson said after his round at The Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia that his decision “was the right gesture for me to do.” He also said the American flag sends a statement that everyone is “created equal.”
