There were more than a few folks who observed Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the White House who wondered if her hubby really wanted her to have his old job.
For example, several would point to Bill lamenting Obama’s “awful legacy,” despite his wife running to continue that legacy.
But if one wanted to make a case that Bill deliberately sabotaged Hill’s Potomac Dreams, then perhaps the clearest evidence was provided today within the Congressional testimony of FBI Director James Comey.
During his testimony today in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, FBI Director James Comey revealed why he decided to give a press conference critical of Hillary’s handing of classified information so close to Election Day, despite recommending no charges and providing no “smoking gun” evidence against her.
A video of this part of Comey’s testimony can be seen here:
As Mediate reports:
“What I struggled with in the spring of last year was, ‘How do we credibly complete an investigation of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails if we conclude there’s no case there?’
The normal way to do it would be to have the Department of Justice announce it,” the FBI chief explained.
Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s meeting with Bill Clinton on a tarmac last June changed everything, and made it to where he felt it was necessary to be upfront and candid with the public.
“And then the capper was — and I’m not picking on the Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who I like very much — but her meeting with President Clinton on that airplane was the capper for me,” he exclaimed.
The tarmac meeting occurred when Bill Clinton met with Lynch aboard her private plane the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport tarmac.
“Our conversation was a great deal about grandchildren, it was primarily social about our travels and he mentioned golf he played in Phoenix,” said Loretta Lynch afterwards.
“How dumb do you think we are?” said Everyone Else.
The meeting signaled to some – including Donald Trump – that shady backroom dealings were going to prevent Hillary from being indicted for her handling of classified emails.
Hillary Clinton has recently taken to blaming Comey’s October 28 notification to Congress that the FBI were looking into emails (some of which as it turns out were classified) to Anthony Weiner, husband of her aide Huma Abedin for her election defeat days afterwards. On October 28, 2016, Comey notified Congress that the FBI had started looking into newly discovered emails that may be pertinent to the case.
“If the election had been on October 27, I would be your president,” Hillary says.
Of course, the fault for the shady behavior regarding classified emails sits solely on Hillary’s lap.
But if Hillary is right in thinking that Comey’s October surprise cost her the election, and Comey is right in believing that he would not have made that announcement without Bill knocking on Lynch’s airplane door in Phoenix, then Bill might want to greet his wife with roses and chocolate tonight.
