Marc Lamont Hill: Muslims Aren’t Alone In Committing Religious Violence

Marc Lamont Hill seems to be slowly becoming the Van Jones, circa 2009, of cable television. He’s a black leftist- a redundancy, of course… so there’s that, but his recent comments- especially those regarding and excusing the Baltimore riots, while condemning the police presence and response- make him sound like a black Dennis Kucinich.

Which is nowhere near approaching a compliment.

Hill does what the overwhelming majority of Leftists do when discussing Islam- intellectually and morally contort themselves into pretzels trying to defend the violence proceeding from Islam. No matter when and where, lefties will frequently draw a moral equivalence between the violence perpetrated by radical Muslims as an example of their faith with violence perpetrated by adherents to other religions, or they will simply minimize the continued violence and patterns of behavior of radical Muslims, trivializing the the pain, suffering and death of the increasing numbers of victims of Islamic violence.

Remember Obama’s statement at the National Prayer Breakfast, about Christians and their ‘high horse?’

Or, remember when Tavis Smiley, another black Leftist who had the temerity to utter this profound lie when he interviewed Ayaan Hirsi Ali?

Hill doesn’t go this far- at least in his most recent interview, but his comments are still ridiculous nonetheless. On an episode of CNN where the topic was the shooting related to the “draw Muhammad” contest, Ben Ferguson argued what’s obvious to most clear-thinking people- Islam has a violence problem. But Hill not only denied Ferguson’s claim, he said Muslims aren’t alone in engaging in the kind of violence associated with Muslim terrorists.  Therefore, we shouldn’t single them out.

From The Gateway Pundit

Ben Ferguson: “There is a section of Islam that is a real threat…”

Hill: “The point is Alan Dershowitz made this absurd comment earlier, that the only people who are engaging in these violent ideological war are Muslim. That’s not true. You can go to Uganda right now and see gay people killed for being gay by Christians, by rogue Christian organizations. We can go around Africa, around Europe, around South America and find all these people.”

This brand of moral equivalence isn’t taken seriously by anyone whose moral compass remains intact. Radical Muslims give Islam a bad name. The worldwide violence they’ve wrought isn’t comparable to the violence of any other religious group- particularly Christians. The website Religion of Peace gives us insight to the pronounced activity of Muslim terrorists who’ve carried out almost 26,000 terror attacks since 9-11.

rop-tally-

Let’s not fool ourselves about the kind of violence represented carried out in the name of Islam.
