Rachel Maddow's Ratings Take Nose Dive After Trump Tax Return Reveal

Elections have consequences.

So do hoaxes.

Rachel Maddow tried to grab a big audience with her now-infamous “Trump tax return reveal” show.

But for many and most especially those on the left, it was such a letdown nothing burger that it appears to have left a bad taste in people’s mouths when it comes to viewing Maddow.

From Washington Free Beacon:

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s ratings have plummeted since her special episode Tuesday night when she said she was going to release President Donald Trump’s tax returns.

Maddow tweeted on Tuesday before her show that she had Trump’s tax returns, hyping the report for her audience. Less than an hour, she clarified in another message that she only had part of the president’s returns from 2005.

So what did the “big reveal” actually reveal?

That in 2005, President Donald Trump paid a boatload of taxes, contrary to the prevailing narrative. He actually paid $38 million in that year.

Not exactly what her liberal viewers were hoping to see.

The following night, Wednesday, Maddow’s ratings were down 36 percent overall from Tuesday, and in the key 25- to 54-year-old demographic, her ratings were down 54 percent, Fox News reports.

Maddow spent most of her show Tuesday discussing the two-page document on Trump’s taxes.

“The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon told Maddow on Wednesday that her tax scoop was a letdown, and the MSNBC host appeared to agree with the late-night comic.

There are consequences for playing with people.

Hopefully the slide continues.

Maybe some might get that this is just one example of how they’ve being played by liberal media, and turn Maddow and MSNBC off for good…
