So this “Tips for Jesus” thing is mind-blowingly awesome!

So there are people going around tipping servers outrageous amounts of money, trying to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Servers work very hard, usually for not very much pay.  People who have the means to help them and the desire to be like Christ are doing HUGE things!

Matthew 25:40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Tips For Jesus‘ is on a mission to show the world what Christian generosity is supposed to look like. The people behind it remain anonymous…

I find it interesting that so many of these receipts were from American Express cards that all have the same last 4 digits (6007), regardless of whether it was the receipt from Hollywood, Chicago, or Michigan. Don’t get me wrong, this is the season of Christ’s birth and giving to others is part of that, but something seems a bit off to me about these receipts.

It is the same (singular) guy doing it. He must travel.

  • FluffytheTurtle

It’s really cool, but I wonder why all the credit cards end in 6007… Hmmm….

    • Tylor

very generous person or perhaps organization.

Why doesn’t the twitter work? I find this great if it was true but it seems almost as fishy as Dayna Morales. I love your blogs but this idk about…

      It is his Instagram handle.

In which they all are AMEX with the 6007. Is this one person travelling all over? I am sorry I just find it fishy. Like I said I love this site but that doesn’t mean I have to believe everything.

Well I don’t have thousands of dollars to give to servers, but I usually give a large tip then a God Bless and cross symbol. We’re supposed to be generous as Christians..

Unfortunately, if this person really truly understood biblical generosity, they wouldn’t be dropping $6000 on alcohol at a club. No disrespect intended, I’m sure the excessive tips are a huge blessing to those servers and I’m sure there is some good to come from this, but there’s a mixed message when we’re spending enough money in one night at a club that could build 3 or 4 wells in Africa or other more worthy projects.

You’re assuming they were his drinks… meet people where they are, right?

I’m not a rich person and I don’t go out very often with my husband and six kids, but when we do go out for dinner, we always tip very well because it makes us happy to thank the person who graciously waited on all of us, with a great tip. I’m pretty sure that Jesus has a lot to do with our reason for doing this so perhaps next time I will give him the credit too!

Because servers work sooo hard. The US is becoming the United States of Poor People Who Whine A Lot. Whatever happened to the American dream people? You know, actually going out and EARNING, CREATING, and actually making an impact on the lives of millions. Genuine Christian generosity should come in the form of enlightenment of the mind to ways to create your own wealth, not blind handouts to “overworked” waiters. What is the world coming to?
