Tim Allen is not only the “Last Man Standing,” he may be one of the last conservatives in Hollywood who wouldn’t stand for any bullying from the left.
Tim Allen opened up briefly about what it means to be a conservative in Hollywood in 2017 during an interview with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night, explaining that one must be “real careful” in talking about President Donald Trump or else risk being beaten up.
“You’ve gotta be real careful around here. You get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes,” the 63-year-old Last Man Standing star told Kimmel when asked about his attendance at Trump’s inauguration in January.
He made a Hitler analogy, not about Trump, but rather about Trump’s Hollywood critics who goose step all together in their hatred of Trump and insist you do the same.
“This is like ’30s Germany. I don’t know what happened,” he added. “If you’re not part of the group, ‘you know what we believe is right,’ I go, ‘Well, I might have a problem with that.’”
He’s called out Hollywood in the past for hypocrisy and bullying about Trump.
In an interview with Megyn Kelly after the election, Allen called out anti-Trump celebrities in Hollywood for being “hypocritical” during the 2016 campaign.
“What I find odd in Hollywood is that they didn’t like Trump because he was a bully,” Allen told Kelly. “But if you had any kind of inkling that you were for Trump, you got bullied for doing that. And it gets a little bit hypocritical to me.”
He talked with Jimmy Kimmel about attending the inauguration, adding how “government does stuff big.” He clearly seemed overwhelmed by the pomp and circumstances of it all, with “parades” and “rows of Cadillacs.”
When Kimmel asked him what was he most concerned about, Allen said he was most concerned about issues of surveillance, saying that if people saw someone driving by with a camera pointed at their house, they’d be concerned but that Google was taking pictures of your house all the time and people aren’t concerned about it. He also raised questions that through such things as Amazon, that too much is known about us, through relational databases, certainly a valid privacy concern.
Good for Tim Allen for calling out Hollywood on their hypocrisy.
