CA Parents Give School District Who Employed Military Hating Teacher Epic Dose Of Payback (VIDEO)

The community turned out in force to criticize El Rancho High School for hiring Gregory Salcido, the teacher who was caught on video last month berating a high school student for daring to wear a t-shirt celebrating the U.S. military.

The school district took a lot of flack when video of Salcido went viral. Salcido — who is also an elected city councilman in Pico Rivera, California — was slammed nationwide when video was released showing him verbally attacking a student who dared to wear in his classroom a t-shirt in support of the U.S. Marines.

“Because we have a bunch of dumbsh**s over there,” Salcido said in the profanity-laced video. “Think about the people who you know who are over there. Your freaking stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They’re dumbsh**s. They’re not like high-level thinkers, they’re not academic people, they’re not intellectual people. They’re the lowest of our low.”

At one point, the teacher is heard further berating our soldiers saying “So, if you join the military, it’s because you had no other options. It’s because you didn’t take care of business academically because your parents didn’t love you enough to push you and then you didn’t love yourself enough to push yourself.”

As soon as the video went nation-wide, the school district suspended the teacher. But parents were still VERY unhappy, to say the least.

Parents who turned out to a meeting gave officials an earful…

“The bullying has to stop,” Cynthia Perry Lopez exclaimed during the meeting. “What Greg Salcido has done amounts to bullying.”

For his part, military veteran Robert Mejia said allowing Salcido back into the classroom would be to “endorse his comments.”

“I was truly disgusted,” said the Marine veteran father of the student who was the object of the teacher’s rant. “I could not believe that we allow educators to talk to our children like this. It’s just unbelievable.”

Resident Olivia Chavez-Carrol also spoke at the meeting and said that teacher Salcido “crossed that line” with is comments.

A General in the U.S. Army also spoke up:

The Pentagon also responded to the teacher’s ignorant harangue slamming Salcido as “uninformed,” the Washington Examiner reported.

Amber Smith, the Pentagon’s director of outreach, said she found the comments “uninformed” when she was asked directly about Gregory Salcido, who is also a city councilman in Pico Rivera, Calif. A recording of Salcido apparently made by one of his students and posted to social media reveals him railing against the perceived incompetence of the military and comparing recruiters who visit high schools to pimps.

“I have seen maybe a few things that he said that were very uninformed, and I think that’s an excellent example of who we would like to connect with, and inform them with an accurate image of those who are serving and why they serve,” said Smith, who served as an Army Kiowa helicopter pilot in Iraq and Afghanistan before being appointed by President Trump last year.

Smith was briefing reporters on a new Pentagon initiative to educate the American public about the U.S. military called “This is Your Military.” She said the goal is to introduce the public to the less than 1 percent of Americans who serve in the military, and to correct common misconceptions.

We’ll likely see this teacher fired eventually. But so far his fate is still undecided.
