It’s been a long tough road, but finally today in a great day for the presumption of innocence and the Constitution, Justice Brett Michael Kavanaugh won his confirmation vote from the Senate and he was just sworn-in to the SCOTUS.
In a quick private ceremony with no media invited, Kavanaugh was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts and retired Justice Anthony Kennedy who he is replacing, as his wife, Ashley held the bible and his children were by their side. Roberts administered the Constitutional Oath and Kennedy administered the Judicial Oath. Kavanaugh had been a law clerk for Justice Kennedy.
That means he can begin work immediately and reports are he will start work with the Court on Tuesday.
From Fox News:
The Senate voted 50-48 to confirm Kavanaugh, mostly along party lines, after a weeklong FBI probe helped settle concerns among most wavering senators about the sexual assault allegations that nearly derailed his nomination and led to a dramatic second hearing. Saturday’s roll call marked the tightest successful Supreme Court confirmation vote in over 100 years, closer than even that of Clarence Thomas who similarly faced sexual misconduct allegations.
Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., was the sole Democrat to vote “yes.” Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, was a “no,” but voted “present” as a courtesy to Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., who was attending his daughter’s wedding in Montana.
Did the leftists who tried to derail his confirmation accept defeat and go off quietly into the night?
Well, no, not yet. But in another amazing display of lunacy, many of them stormed the steps of the SCOTUS and actually pounded on the doors as Kavanaugh was being sworn-in.
A large crowd of protesters has surged onto the front steps of the US Supreme Court, chanting, "Kavanaugh has got to go." Brett Kavanaugh is inside, where he will be sworn in. https://t.co/POLG1Y9RPr pic.twitter.com/Y9JfBzjkZj

CNN, of course, highlighted it as a “look how upset people are” segment, without realizing how Americans just see this reaction as crazy.
Many professional activists had chased down senators in recent days trying to get them to change their votes.
But in large measure, that may have had the opposite effect, just as the pounding on the doors will.
Republicans were so enraged by what the Democrats had done and the harassment by the activists, it united Republicans and energized the base.
And many have promised to send a message to the Democrats in just about a month.
Remember, remember come November!
And congratulations, Justice Kavanaugh and family!
