Liberal media shamelessly twists comment from Rick Santorum

Liberal media consistently twist what conservatives say — especially if they’re hardcore Christians — in order to paint them up as homophobic, women-hating, war mongers who have no soul.

Typically this is done by subtly leaving out bits and pieces of what is said, slightly altering the context of the comment until it fits their desired narrative.

Well, several lefty outlets decided to go all out against Rick Santorum by completely and unashamedly taking a comment he recently made about how a Gay print shop shouldn’t be forced to print something that says “God Hates Fags” on it, and making it seem as if he has something against homosexuals.

Yes, Santorum was standing up for the right of homosexual business owners to deny serving hateful people, yet somehow he’s the bad guy.

Liberal logic — aka hatred and intolerance — at its finest.

The one from HuffPo above is seriously egregious and shows a complete lack of journalistic integrity. They obviously ripped that section of the quote out of context and then used it as a means of driving traffic to the drivel they posted on their site.

Here’s the actual statement in it’s proper context.

REDSTATE

The actual question posed by Santorum is one that needs to be asked in light of all the hoopla over the Indiana religious liberty bill and how Christian bakers and photographers have been treated lately by militants in the gay community.

It’s a question designed to show how the beliefs of ALL people are protected under the First Amendment, not just Christians. Gay business owners should never be forced to provide a service in connection with a message that goes against their personally held beliefs.

Liberal media hate Santorum so badly they were willing to completely trash his main point in order to slam him and get views to their websites. It’s disgusting.

HuffPo and TPM didn’t even attempt to hide what they were doing. They have an axe to grind and they just came right out and twisted Santorum’s words without giving it a second thought.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, journalists used to care about facts and telling the truth, not headlines and web traffic. A reporter only sought the truth and to hold people in power accountable for their actions, but alas, those days seem to be long gone.

Will journalistic integrity make a come back?

I hope so, but seeing garbage like this doesn’t build my confidence any.
