We are all familiar with the Obamacare replacement debacle where Paul Ryan couldn’t even get his Obamacare lite bill to the floor for a vote.
That seems like a long time ago doesn’t it?
It sounds like the House Freedom Caucus has been driving the conversation in the right direction and we might actually get a halfway decent bill this time.
Republicans ran on repeal and replace. That’s what they have to do.
Paul Ryan just dropped an encouraging comment…
From Washington Examiner:
House Speaker Paul Ryan said Republicans are “very close” to getting a breakthrough on legislation to repeal Obamacare even after rowdy town halls during the Easter recess sparked more opposition among Republicans.
Lawmakers are “negotiating finishing touches” on a compromise, Ryan told the London think tank Policy Exchange during an overseas trip Wednesday.
We will have to wait and see what this looks like.
But, this looks to be an encouraging sign that Ryan got the message and that the Freedom Caucus is on board with finally giving the voters what they want.
