Ted Cruz sat down with Mark Levin onstage at the Conservative Political Action Conference(CPAC).

He dropped terrific news on immigration.

From The Blaze:

“Since Inauguration Day, illegal crossings have dropped 50 percent [in the Rio Grande section of the border],” he said, as the audience broke out in applause and cheers. Cruz mentioned that he had gone on a ride-along on a midnight patrol of the area and that a border patrol agent had given him the information about the drop in crossing attempts.

“Oddly enough, you and I have not seen that on 6 o’clock news,” he added.

Cruz said that the border patrol agents thought that the drop was due to potential crossers now believing that the law will finally be enforced.

Relevant part at 20:30.

Cruz also confided that he believed there might be another Supreme Court vacancy as soon as the summer.

“As crazy as the left is now, if that happens they will go full Armageddon meltdown,” he said.

There has been speculation about the retirement of various justices, most notably Justice Anthony Kennedy. He and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg are over 80, she is almost 84 years old. Another justice, Stephen Breyer is 78.

Ted Cruz because he served as a Supreme Court clerk has some greater connections to information than most other people on the issue.

While a Justice Gorsuch would bring the court theoretically to where it had been with Scalia, another added conservative would fundamentally change things for the better. If true, it could be a very positive direction for the court.

Great news from Ted Cruz!
